Duo Haru
Josephine Lee, soprano
Akane Ota, mezzo-soprano
Duo Haru is a female vocal duo formed by Josephine Lee, soprano, and Akane Ota, mezzo-soprano. As a long time colleague and friend at San Francisco Symphony Chorus, their collaboration began during Pocket Opera’s 2026–2027 production of Madama Butterfly, where they covered the roles of Cio-Cio-San and Suzuki. In 2026, they were invited to perform excerpts from the opera in Japanese at the Cupertino Cherry Blossom Festival and the Nikkei Matsuri San Jose Festival. Together, they enjoy connecting with audiences through a diverse repertoire, from Korean and Japanese songs to operatic classical works.
